Unmissable sights
Grawa waterfall
Colossal, thundering masses of water plummet their way down 180 metres into the depths. The 85-metre-wide Grawa waterfall has various wooden loungers at its base. Make yourself comfortable and feel the fine spray coming from the tumbling water. Grawa waterfall is located just 4.5 kilometres away from our Gletscher Chalet – and the path to reach it is also suitable for pushchairs!
The Top of Tyrol viewing platform
It’s located at 3,210 metres above sea level and offers a fantastic 360° view of Stubai’s 109 three-thousand-metre peaks – a sight you won’t soon forget. We’re talking about the Top of Tyrol viewing platform in the Stubai Glacier ski area – around 7 kilometres away from your chalet. What makes it so special: The platform extends 9 metres out over the precipice – meaning thrills are guaranteed!
Klaus Äuele Kids’ Park
Designed to let you experience the forces of nature: At Klaus Äuele Kids’ Park, families with children can clamber around on the Spiral of Theodorus, balance their way through the rope jungle, soak up the view from the “sandpiper’s nest”, or simply enjoy a spot of relaxation. And it’s all less than 3 kilometres away!
Wellness & swimming fun in the StuBay Water Park
At StuBay Water Park, the motto is: Splash and swim with a glacier view. Spread across 5,000m² with several pools, 3 slides, a whirlpool, and a wide range of saunas, little water lovers and big wellness fans will be in paradise. If you find yourself in need of an energy boost, there’s also a restaurant, bistro, and sauna bar.
The “Blaue Lacke” lake
It’s a memento from the last ice age: As the Sulzenauferner glacier melted, it formed a mountain lake at 2,294 metres above sea level – the “Blaue Lacke”. The name, which translates to “blue lake” is a reference to the lake’s brilliant shades of blue, which vary depending on the substrate as well as the clouds in the sky.
The Hühnerspiel viewpoint
One of a total of 12 scenic nature sites in Stubaital, the Hühnerspiel viewpoint lies just beneath the Mt Brennerspitze summit and offers a fantastic panorama of the surrounding mountains. The best place to enjoy the view is from the 360° panoramic bench. On clear days, you can see all the way to Inntal valley and the icy giants at the end of Stubaital. The name “Hühnerspiel” means “grouse’s game”, as male black grouse use the plateau for their courtship rituals during mating season.
Mt Elfer
The Stubai locals like to call it “the shyest of the Seven Summits Stubai”. Why? Because the sun illuminates it from behind at 11 a.m. every day (hence the name “Elfer” – eleven) and then it once again hides itself away in shadow. Up close, its rugged towers of rock look particularly impressive. Many people also call Mt Elfer the “sport mountain”, because the climb up the final stretch gives would-be summiteers a good workout. But once they’ve reached the top, a spectacular view opens up of the glacier-bound peaks of the Stubai Alps, the Karwendel mountains, and the Serles ridge.
